Mission Allocation Update (8/04/08)

The official missions update is: out of the $1,396,670.98 amount collected from RE, which roughly equals $69,833.55 for missions is what we could utilize for projects..

Missions has voted for the first two international projects…

$10,000 for our international partner, Alfalit’s Dominican Republic Literacy Project. Many members of FUSE will join Mission Leaders, Betty Thorne and Billy Browning and travel this June to San Juan de Maguana. There, they will finish a wholly UBC -funded school building thanks to your commitments. Once completed, it will provide a place for a biblically based education for 350 children ages 5-8. This area is very poor. Their town was destroyed by Hurricane George and many lost their homes and family. This school will be a beacon in their village. This project has been in the works for years…the RE money was the final “act” in God’s plan of completion.

UBC member missionary, Elly Admiral got her final $14,000 in funding to travel to the Sudan. She will leave in October for two years to live as a missionary to the Didinga Tribe, an isolated community in the mountains. While learning the language, she will be immersed in a pagan culture where she and her team will spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to a wholly unreached people. She firmly believes God called her to Africa as part of the Great Commission. UBC is an integral part of her support.

We have local projects under consideration for the next meeting…
