Dear Co-laborers at UBC:

Recently I was in another state speaking at a church where the pastor was formerly from South Florida. At dinner, I was talking to him about why he left, and he said “the battle was just too great down there.” My response to him was, “and that is exactly why you should have stayed. I believe the lines are being drawn in three regions of ou country and one of the regions is South Florida.” I want you to know that we are all very excited about your new building project! The fact that you have decided to become pro-active to the point of ministering to more and more children and families is astounding. It is a wonderful blessing to every one here. I believe we have the potential of another great American revival and South Florida is exactly the place for it to happen. I also believe in days to come, the rest of the country will come to us and ask how did you do the ministry in South Florida, now that the microcosm in South Florida has become all across the country? Certainly, one of the places America will go to is University Baptist Church. Your growth is not only for here locally, but to help train the rest of the country how to do ministry in a radically changing culture. As I said, you guys are an inspiration. I encourage you to give all you can, and as often as you can to the building of this project and beyond…all for the glory of God! When the day comes in heaven and God celebrates the ministry of University Baptist Church, you can stand up and say, “I was there, I was a part, and I was a warrior!”
