[Q.2] Does the church believe that small groups are the most effective way to reach the community with the gospel?
[A.2] No. What was said is that we affirm small groups as the optimal environment for life change. In fact, our small groups are closed environments, meaning that we don’t encourage people to bring new people (believers or non-believers) to their groups. UBC has shown us time and again that the most effective way to share the gospel with our community is through one on one relationships where over time, as trust is built and shared questions can be answered, invitations are made to a weekend service or one of our median size groups that give opportunity for people to cross the line of faith in Christ. Most of those coming to Christ at UBC (85%) say they come at the invitation of a family member or friend.
