[Q.1] Have we lost our focus on Small Groups?

[A.1] No. The first church of Acts 2 had both large group and small group ministry as do we. The 3000 that were baptized in Jerusalem after Pentecost met in the Temple Courts as one great worshipping throng and from house to house in small groups. It was not either/or it was both/and. We are convinced that the best environment most optimal to life change in personal discipleship is small groups where we come to know/pray/love and serve one another on a first name basis. We also believe the most effective meeting space for Small Groups to have that kind of impact is in our homes. This is partly why we call them Kitchen environments. To refer to the kind of relational intimacy that happens around a kitchen table. UBC’s Ministry Plan continues to affirm small groups in this way.
