I feel a renewal in my relationship with Jesus and UBC has so very much to do with it. We used to pass UBC on the way home everyday. I kept telling my husband, “That church is always packed. There has to be something really great happening there”. I didn’t realize it at the time, but it was all of God’s doing, leading us here. Well, my husband was very hesitant, but finally decided to give it a try. That was maybe five or six years ago. Obviously, we found a new home here at UBC. I remember hearing God’s message and for the first time, really understanding what the whole point is. It is to have a relationship with our Lord, a real relationship just as you would have with your spouse, your brother or your best friend. He is our best friend! I can’t even tell you how many times I have left here sobbing. Sometimes tears of joy and sometimes God talking to me plain and clear about something that I need to change in my life…
The arts and music team are also just amazing. I feel my spirit so alive when we are worshiping him through the music I‘ve never experienced that from singing to God, I didn’t even realize that singing to God was part of worship ‘til I came here. I have so much to thank UBC for. Not only is my relationship with Jesus renewed, but my husband and I have been extremely blessed to be part of a small group Bible study from UBC which has helped us learn about God’s word and obviously your faith will not grow unless you are reading God’s word. For all of our kids to see that we meet together on a regular basis to learn more about God is one of the best examples we can give our kids. Words are words, but when they see our actions I believe those are the best life lessons we show our kids. Speaking of our kids , the last but certainly not the least. The UBC children Ministry is unbelievable!!! When I see all the things that go on in there classes and how much they know about God and Bible verses, I am amazed. Our children have such an advantage to be able to be a part of UBC as well. For those families that have not seen FamJamz, They have no idea what an amazing production they are missing. Our children are part of the FamJamz dancers and look forward to going and worshiping God through dancing for Him. God has renewed my life and is showing Himself in new ways through UBC to my family.
