[Q.14] What has happened to the money given so far?
[A.14] Between 1990 and 2003, UBC was involved in two stewardship campaigns: Chart the Course (1990-1993) and Building for Tomorrow (1997-2000). In 2005 we entered into our Homeward Bound campaign which ends this Spring (2008). From the beginning of 1990 through the end of 2007 UBC supporters graciously donated just over $11M toward new ministry opportunities. From those funds the expenditures were made in the following areas and amounts: $2.5M for purchase of the land; $1.8M for Master Planning, architectural and engineering fees; $644K for real estate taxes; $710K for professional fees, (ie. legal, traffic, audio visual design, project management, pre-construction services); $240K for capital campaign expenses; and $131K for equipment purchases that will be taken to the Sunset location. Adding all those together, expenditures from the building funds during this period totaled just over $6.0M. At the end of 2007, our building fund balance was $5M.
